Construction

Lone worker safety on construction sites

Most construction work happens in teams, but plenty does not: site managers opening up, trades finishing late, inspections, out of hours security. SafetyEvo covers the people who are on site alone.

The risks your people face

Working at height

Ladders, scaffolds and roofs when nobody is around.

Plant and machinery

Injuries that leave someone unable to call for help.

Remote or closed sites

Early starts, late finishes and weekend visits.

Common challenges

  • Sites that change week to week
  • Subcontractors and direct staff on the same site
  • Poor signal on new builds

How SafetyEvo helps

Check-in timers

Set before a task with higher risk, with a note of where you are.

SOS

Two second hold, then escalation to the site team by push, text and call.

Location on shift

See who is on which site, and where on it, while they are working.

SafetyEvo does not detect falls automatically. Check-in timers and SOS cover people who are able to press a button or who miss a check-in.

A working example

An inspection after hours

  1. A site manager stays late to inspect the top floor of a new build and sets a 30 minute timer.
  2. The server raises the alert when the timer and grace period pass with no check-in.
  3. The project manager acknowledges and calls; the site manager answers, they lost track of time, and the alert is closed as safe with a note.

An illustrative scenario. Names and times are not from a real incident.

What you gain

  • Cover for the people your site rules cannot cover by a buddy system
  • A simple tool for subcontractors as well as staff
  • Records for your safety file

Frequently asked questions

Does SafetyEvo detect falls?

No. Automatic fall detection (man down) is not part of SafetyEvo today. Check-in timers raise an alert when someone does not check in.
