Questions we are asked most

Lone worker protection

What is SafetyEvo?

A lone worker safety system: an app for staff who work alone, and a console for your office. It covers SOS alerts, check-in timers, location during shifts, welfare monitoring and incident records.

Who is it for?

UK organisations with staff who work alone, such as security, cleaning, facilities, construction, field engineering, care and logistics.

Does SafetyEvo replace our risk assessment?

No. It supports the controls in your lone working risk assessment, such as keeping in touch and raising the alarm.

SOS and escalation

How does an SOS work?

The worker holds the SOS button for two seconds. After a five second countdown, the alert goes to your team with their location and escalates by push, text and call until someone acknowledges.

What if nobody answers?

The alert moves to the next step of your escalation ladder, and after the last step it repeats until a named person acknowledges it. Alerts never stop on their own.

Does SafetyEvo contact the emergency services?

No. Alerts go to your own team, who decide what to do next, which may include calling 999. SafetyEvo is not an accredited alarm receiving centre.

Location and privacy

When is location collected?

Only while a shift is open. The app always shows when tracking is on, and it stops when the shift ends.

Who can see where staff are?

Your responders, supervisors and admins, while the worker is on shift or has an open alert. Older history needs a supervisor or admin, and every view is recorded.

Where is data stored?

On servers in the European Union, in Germany.

Clock-in and attendance

Does SafetyEvo do clock-in and timesheets?

Not yet. Clock-in, attendance and scheduling are planned. Register your interest on the attendance page to hear first.

Phones and set up

Which phones are supported?

Recent iPhones and Android phones. The app checks its own settings and tells staff what to fix, including battery settings for each Android maker.

How do staff get started?

You invite them from the console. They get a link by email or text, set a password, read the privacy notice and allow location.
